Sour Cleansing Tonic for Liver // Many people look to a detox this time of year trying to start fresh. This drink would be great for you if you are doing that! I’m not detoxing in that way - in Chinese Medicine we actual view early Spring and Fall as the optimal times for cleansing, simply as those times are more in line with nature’s rhythms of starting anew. But, I am giving my Liver some attention these days and this sour tonic is also a great way to do that! If you have been on hormones or BC pills for any length of time in your life - you may especially want to consider some Liver food therapy or herbs. Or if you have undergone long periods of stress, poor eating, or alcohol consumption; suffer from depression, gallstones, one-sided migraines; or find yourself feeling sluggish and irritable - lighten up your liver with this juice. Sour is the taste that activates the Liver/Wood Element, with hints of sweet and spicy for balance 💚.
.
Sour Liver Tonic // ½ cucumber peeled, 2 small celery ribs trimmed, 1/2” knob fresh ginger, ½ lime juiced, 1 small handful arugula, inner gel of 1 small aloe leaf, 1 capful Apple Cider Vinegar, 1 tsp raw honey, ½ C filtered water. Vitamix or power blend on high until liquid- 30-60 sec. Strain through mesh strainer into cup and enjoy. 💚
