If you are looking for a book that explains the characteristics of food through the lens of Chinese medicine - this is a great start. The Tao of Nutrition will introduce you to the world of food energetics and whole-food healing. One of my favorite food remedies for chronic sinus infections:

•Make tea from magnolia flowers, basil, ginger, and green onions. Drink 3 times per day for at least one week.

And a few other tips for indigestion:

•Dry and age an orange peel for about 1 month. Boil tea of peels and drink after meals or simple suck on the peel for indigestion. Eat papaya twice daily, in any form. Blend daikon radish and drink juice after meals.

This book is filled with interesting and informative tips for many different ailments and common health concerns and has plenty of recipes for you to incorporate into your weekly meals. If you are suffering from any mild health complaint - it’s worth giving some of these ideas a try before resorting to medications!
